Types of abortion: medical and surgical

At TRUST WOMEN’S CLINIC, we offer two types of abortion: medical abortion and surgical abortion.

Medical abortion (or the abortion pill, as it’s sometimes called) involves taking two types of medication at different times to end a pregnancy. It is available up to late pregnancy.

Surgical abortion is a safe and simple procedure carried out by specialist doctors in a clinic, and involves the pregnancy being removed through the vagina using a suction method. It is available up to 23 weeks and 6 days

Availability: Our In-clinic abortion (surgical abortion) is offered up to 24 weeks at the start of your last menstrual period. If your last period started after 24 weeks ago, we can help connect you to other abortion options in your area.

In-clinic abortions are available by appointment only.
